Re: The Macmillan 4x4 UK Challenge

Just wanted to pass on a big thanks from Little Dave and Hutch for the fantastic club donation to Team 65's Macmillan fundraising efforts. We've now got about £2500 in confirmed donations which is especially good considering how things are out there at the moment.

We are looking forward to representing the club in the Challenge and will try our best to raise the profile of the club, even if its only by asking the celebrity driver,Julia Bradbury how to fiddle air miles points (as noted in the national press this week).

We are pushing now for the final £500 to reach our target so if anyone is able to make an individual donation, however small - it all helps.

Thanks again lads - your generousity is another measure of what a great club we have.

You've reminded me about the annual BJ championship thats coming up soon actually.

Let the lads know but tell Ray (champ) not to worry - we've got a woman to do it this year......

Re: The Macmillan 4x4 UK Challenge

Just a quick update to say the target has been reached!!!!!!!!!

But doesn't mean we can stop yet..........

Our new target is £ 4000 which we are well on our way to achieving. The money raised so far has shown what can be done when you have great friends rallying round for a good cause. At £ 4k we stand a chance of being the highest fundraising team, but we already feel like winners, with the support we've had from you all - thanks lads (and keep on giving!)

Typical QS, always moving the goal post as the towards the end job.

Re: The Macmillan 4x4 UK Challenge

We're back now from our travels over the weekend.

I'll be writing a proper report when I get chance but the main things to report are:

We didn't win the driving bit - but we don't care cos we won the main bit -

'MAC 4X4 HIGHEST SPONSORSHIP AWARD'

At this moment we have raised over £5000 as part of an overall fundraising of £82k.

To get a standing ovation (and a kiss from Julia Bradbury) was a fantastic reward for all the effort. We made it clear to everyone we met that it was the result of a team effort and me and Pete want to pass on our thanks to all club members for their support.

- I won't be passing on the kiss to any of you though, you will have to settle for this for now!

Cheers

Dave

p.s. I know who you are Captain ' Pinky' Cod ......

Did Julia sort you with any air miles dave?

By the way i've just watched the video footage of the (controled) hill decent at clewes, it seems that the colours in the film has been faded with the sun.
